The year of Chopin 2010 in the Balearic Islands
The Government of the Balearic Islands made the decision on 30th October 2009 to make 2010 the Year of Chopin in the Balearic Islands.
This is a way to show its willingness to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of the pianist and composer Frédéric Chopin with a variety of cultural, educational, social and tourist projets with the aim of being interesting to all citizens.
This cultural project gathers the initiatives both from different administrations and private companies and non-profit associations, within the framework of this celebration. Through this project the Government of the Balearic Islands joined the Polish Government’s initiative declaring 2010 the Year of Chopin.
